“Day Dreamer”

Ringelstetter’s favorite part of this piece is the background, and he may not have added any illustrations to it if it hadn’t of been for the requirements of the Coconut Grove Art Festival he attended in later winter of 2020. The contents of this piece changed several times while the artist worked to find a theme he felt fitting for the amazing background he had concocted, but in the end it became your ‘typical’ Nick Ringelstetter painting; a combination of all of the wonders that lurk around in that complex mind of his. 

Ringelstetter hasn’t created many “feminine” pieces in the past, but felt urged in that direction by the color scheme he settled on. The artist is a believer in astral projection, and that’s what we find the character in the sky doing while she daydreams and enjoys the universe around her. This is certainly a piece of female power, which is clearly reflected in the Mario Bros characters at the bottom as princess Peach tries to save them all, but from what I wonder?
