“Unstoppable” By Nick Ringelstetter
This piece was a gentle reminder for our artist that less is more. The inspiration for this piece came from mutual interests in a new friendship where Nick was commissioned to paint a custom piece for a new coworker Geoffrey Heath. They both shared a love for Mario Brothers and Rat Rods, so when his coworker threw out the idea to put those two concepts together in a painting Nick jumped at the chance.
In this piece we see Mario, older and retired, trying to live a peaceful life after years of heroism, but eventually his enemies were able to track him down and he’s once again on the run. But the concept isn’t necessarily where this piece derived its name.
What makes this piece truly unstoppable is the way that it attracts people with its simplicity. Typically viewed as a landscape piece upon first glance, people are drawn to this painting before they realize what’s going on. Upon closer inspection the subjects of the painting reel in even those who had no intentions of purchasing any art that day. This piece has gone on to more than pay for itself and will continue to do so until it’s time runs out, as all of Nick’s work is limited edition.
