PETTING ZOO

“Petting Zoo”

The inspiration for this piece came shortly after Nick finished Infinity-N-Beyond while he was relaxing at his former place of employment, Peck’s Farmer’s Market West. As Nick was strolling through their petting zoo he was thinking of all the times in his life someone had told him that he must be from a different planet because he thinks so much differently than the average bear. While he was considering this, he began to wonder, if he was indeed from a different planet, what would the animals there look like?

It didn’t take long for Nick to get carried off in a wave of inspiration and creativity as he began to imagine the animals in a whole new light. The whimsical, happy characters in this piece bring about a new perspective in a way that allows our mind to see beyond what we’re used to, encouraging our minds to play just as Nick’s was after he finished the complex piece Infinity-N-Beyond.

Nick believes it is of the utmost importance to utilize different parts of your brain so as not to over work it, and if you compare these two pieces you can certainly see the difference in the thought processes. This fun piece was created as a way to give himself a break after an intense creation and a long summer, and that’s why you can feel the fun as you gaze upon this painting.
