ABOUT TIME

This painting was inspired and based off of two of Ringelstetter’s all time favorite pieces, “Dream Sea” and “Tic Time”. He’s been itching to redo these pieces for years, but has put it off because he prefers to have a wide variety of work in his booths. However, thanks the Forbidden Effect, he’s been able to bring these pieces back in a new and unique way, and could do them again and again, resulting with a different piece of art each time because there really is no way to duplicate the Forbidden Effect.

If you’ve followed Ringelstetter’s art in the past or have perused his work on the site, then you may know that “Tic Time” is his personal interpretation of how his own brain works. With the new style, he feels that he’s able to depict this piece in a more three-dimensional and immersive way thanks to the multiple layers. He’s placed a piece of himself in this piece as the spaceman, where he’s floating around inside of his own head, observing the manta rays.

In “Dream Sea” one of the main focal points is the octopus slinking into the portal. In this piece, we can see that he’s made it through, but is about to be transported to another dimension by the UFO. One of the most heart warming aspects of this painting is the little blue elephant that also represents Ringelstetter, and shows us with comfortably closed eyes that he is finally at peace with his place in the universe.
